Miracle Gross is a graduating Strategic Communication major at Hampton University, with minors in Marketing and African American Studies. She was raised between Alexandria, Virginia and Chadbourn, North Carolina, two places that shaped her understanding of community in entirely different ways. Alexandria gave her exposure, momentum, and a front-row seat to diverse experiences. Chadbourn gave her grounding, warmth, and a reminder that care is a form of culture. Together, they taught her that service begins with paying attention to the people around you.
Miracle originally believed she would pursue medicine. She imagined a life dedicated to helping people heal, until she realized she was already doing that in a different way. The more she wrote, listened, and observed, the more she understood that her calling was not in clinical care, but in using communication to make people feel seen, supported, and understood. What she once viewed as a shift in direction became the clearest expression of who she is: someone who moves through the world with empathy, intention, and responsibility to others.
Throughout her time at Hampton, Miracle has built a portfolio grounded in curiosity, cultural awareness, and a commitment to meaningful communication. Her work on the digital team for WHOV-TV, her writing for Her Campus, and her summer internship at FOX 5 DC each strengthened her understanding of how stories travel, how audiences respond, and how messaging can shape perception. At FOX 5, Miracle published more than one hundred digital articles, contributed to newsroom production workflows, and presented a digital strategy proposal focused on audience patterns and engagement.
Her commitment to public service extends far beyond journalism. Miracle co-founded Hearts of Harmony, a reproductive and maternal wellness organization serving Black women and girls. She created Once Upon a Gown, a national initiative that provides free prom dresses to students who need support, transforming what is often a financial barrier into a moment of joy and dignity. She also launched The Fresh Start Fund, which supported the Virginia Peninsula Foodbank and families impacted by SNAP benefit reductions. In every project, her approach is the same: identify the need, listen to the community, and build a solution that honors the people it is meant to help.
Her academic work, leadership roles, and creative projects all point to a single truth: Miracle sees communication as a form of service. Whether she is creating a brand strategy, writing a story, or building a campaign, her goal is to use media to inform, uplift, and empower. She is passionate about digital storytelling that carries cultural awareness, humanity, and emotional intelligence. Her long-term goal is to build a career in digital media and brand communication, producing narratives that are intentional, emotionally intelligent, and culturally grounded. She is passionate about creating work that helps people feel informed, supported, and seen.
Outside of her professional work, Miracle loves reading, journaling, crafting, praying, and creating moments of softness and healing. Those practices refill her cup so she can continue pouring into her work with clarity and intention.
