As Miss Kappa Alpha Psi for the Beta Chi Chapter, my work centers on my platform, Shield & Sanctuary, a faith-based mission rooted in domestic violence awareness, early intervention, and emotional restoration. Grounded in both personal experience and a commitment to community education, Shield & Sanctuary focuses on helping individuals recognize warning signs, understand healthy boundaries, access supportive resources, and cultivate healing. My role is far less about representing the fraternity and far more about advancing a message that protects, empowers, and uplifts the people in our community.
My programming reflects this purpose. I hosted a high school workshop on healthy relationships and boundary-setting, offering students practical tools to identify red flags and build safe relational habits early. I coordinated a self-defense class focused on increasing physical preparedness and confidence among women on campus. Through Puzzles of Peace, I brought students together to create a collaborative affirmation mural designed to inspire hope and healing; the completed mural was donated to Transitions Family Violence Services in Hampton Roads for survivors in transitional housing.

In addition to platform programming, I participate in service with the chapter and engage with the campus community at public events. While I support the fraternity through presence and partnership, my role primarily allows me to lead independently, advocate meaningfully, and create intentional spaces for awareness, education, and healing.
